MAGNOLIA: MIDCENTURY MEMORIES Virtual Book Launch!

Last August 23rd, our new book Magnolia: Midcentury Memories experienced its launch–with many of the book’s authors discussing the third in the trilogy of Magnolia’s historical chronology. Due to the necessity of a virtual launch pad, it was recorded using Zoom and is available for viewing here in case you missed it–and for those who want to experience it again!

Hats off to Tab Melton and Clay Eals for co-hosting the launch.

Also check out the recent Seattle Times’ “Now and Then” article by Clay Eals. Read about the Magnolia Theatre and  background on our book. Here’s the link below.

Seattle Now & Then: a house move, the Magnolia Theatre, 1963, & new book!

And lastly, congratulations to Dee St. George, selected as Historical Person of the Year! Details about Dee’s selection are in the launch video above.

From Monica Wooton, Book III editor–““Dee St. George has served MHS for 15 years. She is generous beyond measure, organized to perfection, and collaborates beautifully to get to the best solution. She was the grant bookkeeper for Book II, had served many years as treasurer of the Society, puts the newsletters together, worked on the Village John Leglar Historical Sculpture, was grant bookkeeper for Book III, and now serves as president of MHS. She is a huge part of making the Magnolia Historical Society work and in making Magnolia memories. She is the greatest example of what volunteerism can be.”
