MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Maybe you missed us?

Well, here’s another chance for us to meet up, as we’ll be back at the 10th anniversary for the Magnolia Farmers Market! That’s right–we’ll be there AGAIN this coming JULY 13th! See you there!

On Saturday, June 1 at the Magnolia Farmers Market, Magnolia Historical Society (MHS) sold its two award-winning books on Magnolia’s history:

Sold on a “donate what you can” basis, with proceeds benefiting the MHS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and the Magnolia Community Club. MHS Board members sold the books from their historic Radio Flyer Red Wagon as they roamed the Market and talked history with shoppers.

THANKS TO YOU WE HAD A VERY SUCCESSFUL DAY!

Did you know:

  • The nostalgic Magnolia Theatre, with its carpet and wallpaper of Magnolia blossoms which opened in 1948, also held Sunday morning Mass before Lady of Fatima Church was built…
  • That between 1900 and 1936 there were 13 farms/dairies listed in the Seattle Polk Directory (the equivalent of the Yellow Pages back then). Most were short-lived and not very productive, but a few contained rich history about Magnolia’s early milkmen…
  • That 4000 years ago, Ancestral Duwamish hunted and gathered at West Point Beach and during the installation of secondary treatment a significant archeological dig discovered this fact and preserved artifacts of the time.

All of the above are mentioned in our history books. Now you can get the facts and the compelling stories surrounding them at this special Magnolia Historical Society Book sale!

The Magnolia Farmers Market takes place Saturdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm from June 1- September 28, 2013 at 33rd Avenue West and West McGraw Street in the Magnolia Village.

Please come by and support your MHS!
