Harry Stimmel may have been the first person to take advantage of the modern West Garfield Street Bridge. He lived on Magnolia Boulevard
near the top of the Bridge, and worked for the telephone company downtown. His commute home took him north on Elliott Avenue West and 15th Avenue West onto Magnolia via the West Dravus Street Bridge. Ever since the Wheeler Street trestle burned down...
